Yes!! Same thing to me when my hearing husband yelled with his verbal voice when I am in the bed and read something before I ready to go to sleep. He screamed for something but I turned the light lamp off. He stops yelled.

This might be a joke, but in real life, it does happen. When one is angry they seem to go on and on and on, so to cut it off you either walk away or turn off the lights! Ha.
Might also give others an idea! hahaha

that is funny… when someone is yelling at me or something and i am wearing my hearing aid, i simply turn it off then i hear nothing…
