Maybe we need bigger Deaf schools and huge classrooms if we use that kind of hearing aids for Deaf children in our classrooms. Hope AG Bell will not steal and own the patent of that invention. : )

It was an acoustic device used by the British in WWII to detect enemy aircraft before the era of radar. I was sited on the East coast of england and pointed towards France. Incoming aircraft could be heard 20 miles away and their bearing was read off the scale in front of the operator. Several sites reporting the bearings could then be triangulated to give a track of the incoming enemy.
Worked very well ’till radar took over.
