if there is security guard hollow to deaf prison then why not deaf prison hollow back use fastest sign langauge said 50 percent secuity guard dont know how use sign langauge commucation due guard is donkey ass 50 percent is deaf dont know what hell guard talk about about behind back speak ? due not allowed wear hearing aids in prison add we should get use vrs interpeter allow in prison watch you guard said and kick ass guard fastest sign langauge vrs interpeter can use in deaf cell room only ??? why not save their time in ada laws deaf prison smile about it “best stay out of trouble laws ” look example those picture will show you what look like and how ???

The guard should have known better because there is a sign saying “Deaf Row” on the wall right by the Deaf inmate’s door. Huh???? He could have used facial expressions, mime, hand signals or whatever to make that Deaf inmate understand.
According to dictionary online, “slopping out” means “the emptying of buckets of human waste when the cells are unlocked in prisons in the morning”.
I don’t like this comic cuz not making sense…obivious that artist isn’t aware of deaf culture…
Make no sense to me.. I guess you mean guard tries to make prisoner to hear the echoes but prisoner can’t hear and looks so happy to be in the jail.
i think stupid.. he shouldnt look at the guard. He should sleep or look the wall…

Well compare to this – I was in hospital and had a sign above me that said “deaf patient”. Does that means nurse, doctors and PCT read the sign? No – they just grab my arm and stick something in me or tried to yell. I stopped them and pointed to the sign where it places above me from the hospital bed and then pointed to the clipboard that attached papers/pen.
Its their way of saying ‘Do I have to do this?’ Or I didnt know you were deaf… can you read lips? I even warned them not to yell because we are in the hospital room. I guess people doesnt comprehend what “deaf mean” – to interpret by them it means we’re dumb or stupid even though we’re not.
Im still dealing with that everyday so this is nothing new to me. Sadly to said that we live in a small world that has a big world of their own.
It is obviously drawn by a hearing cartoonist. We all know that there is a “Death Row” in many prisons across the country. And “death/ dead” sounds like “deaf.” Ok, The artist used “Deaf Row” instead.
On the death row, each condemned prisoner spends at least 23 hours alone in his own cell. In the old days, those prisoners used buckets as toilets long BEFORE toilets and sinks were installed in each cell.
The artist was making fun of the deaf prisoner who did not understand the guard’s command of “slopping out time” meaning it is time to take out the bucket out of his cell. That is what I think what the cartoon means. Funny? Well, it may be subtly witty to a hearing person who knows nothing about deaf people.

Hmm… I think I got it. The guard doesn’t realized this inmate is deaf. The guard over look the sign that says “Deaf Row” as he thought it was “Death Row”. He hollowed twice as he said “I said (repeat) it’s slopping out time!” The guard doesn’t know how to sign and he also doesn’t know that inmate is DEAF! This is funny joke! Got it? Read the saying…

I think that is good part and weird. Good thing is that a person could not hear about the police that was shout out loud. Weird part that police should not shout out loud and that is stupid.

Yep, you got that right about the Deaf Row cartoon! It is fun and challenging to figure any weird or ‘different’ cartoon.
I think what deaf row means. Hope everyone realize guard might be mistake. What ??? it should be dead row! Make sense!?
i tell you something sometime people said dont know what is mean deaf never heard words so i just idea simple deaf take f off change d being dead ear does it mean to you deaf and dead ear ???? clear what deaf mean to you ???? some people said ohhh i got it and shock what you said dead ear mean deaf hear nothing as all so it would me dead ear row ?? how about that some good sense joke to you ???
For a joke, this make sense to me.It’s how we appreciate such one as this but don’t make being deaf funny, ok?!

I think the joke is funny because it shows how stupid the guard is by standing there and yelling. It seems to me that when you are deaf the hearing person gets louder. If I did not hear you the first time, what makes you think I will hear you the second time when you are yelling at me.
